Creating a Digital Product Passport Starts With the Data Behind It
The visible passport is only the end result. The real work starts earlier: understanding what applies, finding the right product information, identifying what is missing and keeping that data current.
-
Understand
Identify the requirements relevant to your products and establish where to start.
-
Collect

Organise the information, identify gaps and prepare product records for publication.
-
Publish & Maintain
Create your Digital Product Passport and keep its information up to date as products and requirements evolve.

Manage Your Digital Product Passports in One Place
Product information rarely sits in one system. It is spread across spreadsheets, supplier files, product systems, sustainability records and different internal teams.
SimpliPass brings that information into one structured DPP workflow, helping you manage product records from initial preparation through publication and ongoing maintenance.

Turn Product Data Into a Useful Digital Product Passport
A Digital Product Passport is more than a QR code. It brings relevant product information together in a structured digital record that can be maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
*The exact information required in a DPP will depend on the legislation and product group. SimpliPass is designed to evolve as those requirements are defined.
Product name, model or SKU, identifiers, manufacturer or brand information and relevant product characteristics.
Material and component information, recycled content and other product-specific information where applicable.
Relevant origin, manufacturing and supply-chain information available for the product.
Environmental and carbon information available for the product, using the applicable methodology and requirements.
Care information that supports correct use, durability and a longer product life.
Information supporting repair, reuse, disassembly, recycling and responsible end-of-life handling.
DPP Software Is Only Part of the Solution
The most difficult DPP questions are not purely technical. Which products are affected? What information will be required? Where does that information sit today? What is missing? And how will it stay accurate as requirements change?

Prepare Your Product Data Before DPP Requirements Apply
The EU Digital Product Passport Registry became operational on 20 July 2026. Product-specific DPP requirements are now being introduced progressively through ESPR delegated acts and other EU legislation.
For textile apparel, the European Commission currently indicates Q4 2027 for adoption of the relevant ESPR delegated act. Following adoption of an ESPR delegated act, economic operators will have a transition period of at least 18 months. The exact requirements and timelines may still evolve.
The practical work can start earlier: identify the products likely to be affected, map the data you already have and find the gaps before DPP becomes a production-scale compliance task.

Start With a DPP Readiness Pilot
You do not need to map your entire product portfolio on day one. A focused pilot lets you test applicability, existing product data, supplier information and the SimpliPass workflow on a representative group of products.
Frequently Asked Questions
A Digital Product Passport, or DPP, is a digital record containing information about a product that can be accessed electronically through a unique product identifier and data carrier. The exact information and access requirements depend on the legislation and product group concerned.
Digital Product Passport software helps organisations collect, structure, manage, publish and maintain the information needed for Digital Product Passports. SimpliPass provides a structured workspace for managing this process across product records.
There is no single implementation date for every product. DPP requirements are being introduced progressively through product-specific EU legislation and ESPR delegated acts. Under the current ESPR timetable, textiles, tyres and aluminium are among the product groups scheduled for delegated acts in 2027.
The required information will depend on the product group and applicable legislation. It may include product identification, materials and composition, sustainability or environmental information, information supporting repair and durability, and relevant end-of-life information.
Yes. Companies can already map their product portfolios, identify where relevant product and supplier information is stored, assess data quality and test how missing information could be collected. Final compliance fields should then be adjusted once product-specific requirements are adopted.
The DPP Registry is the EU-level infrastructure supporting the Digital Product Passport system. It became operational on 20 July 2026 and stores identifiers and required registration information rather than the complete underlying product dataset.
SimpliPass provides a structured workflow for bringing product information together, identifying gaps, creating DPP records and managing published passport information as the product portfolio and regulatory requirements evolve.
