In 2024, the deadline for companies in Chile to submit notifications for industrial use substances was breached, as per the schedule set out by Decree 57/2021. Following this, in January this year, Chile’s Agency published its first National Inventory of existing hazardous substances. This inventory is available on the Ministry of Environment (MMA)’s chemical substances notification platform website. To access the platform, companies or other interested parties must send a request to the MMA.
Substances not listed on the inventory are now considered “new” substances and will require notification, which includes additional data requirements.
On February 9, companies began notifying non-industrial use substances and mixtures, with a deadline of August 30.
